FCDO to give evidence on the UK’s penholder role at the UN
The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Lord Collins of Highbury, will give evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee on the UK’s penholder-ship at the United Nations Security Council. Lord Collins will appear alongside the Director for Multilateral and Human Rights at the FCDO, Freya Jackson.

The Committee is likely to discuss the relevance of the multilateral system as well as the rise in countries seeking to solve conflict outside of the UN framework.
The session is likely to explore the degree to which strategy and policy is cohered between the FCDO at country-level and the United Nations in New York. Members are likely to discuss files for which the UK holds the pen, including Yemen, Sudan and the file on Women, Peace and Security.
