Committee discusses building safety with campaigners and fire authorities

The Industry and Regulators Committee will continue its inquiry into building safety regulation by hearing from campaigners and the London Fire Brigade. The Committee will discuss whether the Building Safety Regulator’s (BSR) regulatory framework has improved the safety of high-rise buildings. The Committee will discuss how the BSR engages with residents and fire authorities and how this feeds into its decision-making. The Committee will also consider the impact of delays in approvals on the delivery of new homes and the maintenance of existing buildings, and whether the BSR has the resources and skills it needs to carry out timely assessments of safety.
