Future of North Sea energy to be examined by Scottish Affairs Committee
The cross-party committee will quiz the Energy Minister, Michael Shanks, on the North Sea energy transition as part of its inquiry into GB Energy and the transition to net zero.
Meeting details
Members will likely question the Minister on the government’s consultation on the North Sea’s energy future, transitioning workers to clean energy jobs and changes to the oil and gas industry’s fiscal and regulatory environment. Questions may also focus on the closure of the Grangemouth oil refinery and the progress of Project Willow proposals.
