Cabinet Office minister to give evidence on national security strategy
On Monday 14 July, the Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy will hear oral evidence from Pat McFadden, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. The session will take place in the context of the Committee’s efforts to arrange a public evidence session with the new National Security Adviser.

Pat McFadden, the most senior Government minister in the Cabinet Office after the Prime Minister, will give evidence on the new National Security Strategy and related topics. The Strategy recommended a “new national resilience effort” and seeks to prepare for the possibility of the UK homeland coming under threat.
Members are expected to question the minister on Government handling, priorities and delivery across his wide-ranging ministerial brief which includes national security, state threats and resilience.
