Chief Secretary to the Treasury to appear as Committee confirms Spending Review sessions

The Committee will hear from leading experts on public spending. The panel will be made up of senior staff at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, the London Business School and the Institute for Government.

The Committee’s scrutiny is likely to cover a range of areas including the trade-offs between cutting spending in certain departments and investing in others. The process followed by HM Treasury and the potential impacts of Ministers’ decisions on services are also likely to be probed.
