Committee to question outgoing UKRI Chief Executive, Professor Dame Ottoline Leyser
The Science, Innovation and Technology Committee will question Professor Dame Ottoline Leyser, the outgoing Chief Executive of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), about her time in post, which comes to an end in late June.
The cross-party committee will explore the impact of the recent Spending Review on UKRI, delivery plans for its work over the coming years and its input into the development of the Industrial Strategy.

Questions will be wide-ranging and may also cover the current state of the UK’s research and innovation landscape, UKRI’s relationship with the government, the new Local Innovation Partnerships Fund, and its funding of AI and bioeconomy projects.
Members could question Dame Ottoline about her views on the future of UK research and innovation, including ten-year R&D funding, university finances and the advancement of equality, diversity and inclusion in the sector.
