How can we up-skill and re-skill workers for clean energy jobs?
The Scottish Affairs Committee will continue its inquiry into GB Energy and the net zero transition with an evidence session focusing on the skills landscape of Scotland’s energy transition.
Meeting details
The cross-party committee will first hear from representatives of Scotland’s further education sector. Questions could be about the challenges the sector faces in encouraging oil and gas workers to transition to clean energy, UK government policies to encourage re-skilling and bridging clean energy skills gaps.
On the second panel, Members will question energy employers and an industry training board. MPs may explore the difficulties in recruiting for clean energy skills, as well as industry views on government reskilling initiatives like the Energy Skills Passport.
