Lebanese ambassador to give evidence on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
The Lebanese ambassador to the UK will provide evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, at 10.30 on Tuesday 13 May.
The session will focus on peaceful resolutions to the long-standing conflict and ask how the UK Government can provide support. The session will explore the experience of Lebanon in settling regional conflicts, including with Israel, and issues such as settlement sustainability, effective peacekeeping, and building relationships through cooperation on socioeconomic policies.
Meeting details
Questions are likely to focus on Lebanon’s vision for the future of the region and the various proposals for peace plans. Previous sessions in this inquiry have considered options such as the two-state solution from a variety of perspectives, including those of Israelis and Palestinians.
