Bank of England’s PRA to give evidence against backdrop of global financial uncertainty
Next Tuesday, the Treasury Committee will question senior officials at the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), including CEO Sam Woods, and a member of the Prudential Regulation Committee (PRC).
Meeting details
In a wide-ranging session, members of the Committee may seek the PRA’s view on recent volatility in global financial markets and whether there is a need for a regulatory response.
Witnesses may also be questioned on the extent to which the organisation is changing its plans as the UK Government continues to exert pressure on regulators to facilitate growing the economy.
Other areas which may be covered include the use of artificial intelligence in the finance sector as the Committee's inquiry into the issue continues.
