Secretary of State Wes Streeting to face questions on NHS England reorganisation 

On Tuesday 8 April, MPs will question the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care on the Government's plan to abolish NHS England (NHSE) and merge it with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

Sir James Mackey, the new CEO of NHSE, and Sir Chris Whitty, the Chief Medical Officer and Interim Permanent Secretary at DHSC, will appear on the panel alongside the Secretary of State, to answer MPs questions on the implications of the Government’s decision for patients, staff, the NHS and the Department. 

The session will be an opportunity for the Committee to follow up on issues about the merger raised with it by senior figures from across the health sector, in an evidence session on 26 March
