Ric Lewis to face questions ahead of Crown Estate appointment
Next Wednesday afternoon, the Treasury Committee will hold a pre-appointment hearing with the Government’s preferred candidate for the role of Chair of the Crown Estate.
Meeting details
Mr Lewis was confirmed as the Government’s choice for the role in December 2024. His experience includes more than 35 years in the real estate sector and he is currently the Executive Chair and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Tristan Capital Partners.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer has confirmed she will review recommendations made by the Treasury Committee following this hearing before making a final decision on the appointment.
The Crown Estate is a multi-billion pound business which belongs to His Majesty but its profits are paid back into the Treasury via its Consolidated Fund. The profits are therefore available for Government expenditure. More than £3 billion has been paid into the Treasury in the last decade.
A short report will be published following the session.
