FCDO to give evidence on Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Hamish Falconer MP, Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) Minister, will give evidence to the Foreign Affairs Committee on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Tuesday 11 March at 10.30am.  

Mr Falconer will be accompanied by Stephen Hickey, FCDO Director for the Middle East and North Africa.

The session is likely to cover recent reports that Israel has begun to block humanitarian aid entering Israel. Members are likely to discuss the actions of the settlers in the West Bank and the effectiveness of UK sanctions against them.  

The session is likely to also cover the displacement of Palestinians due to military action in the West Bank, as well as comments by Israeli ministers proposing to annex the West Bank.  

The Committee may explore the current peace plan and the differing views on the feasibility of the two-state solution.
