How well can Government support the “growth-driving” sectors identified in its new industrial strategy?
After the CBI revealed that the UK “green sector” is growing at triple the rate of the broader economy, BTC will question representatives of key growth-driving sectors in its inquiry into Invest 2035, the industrial strategy Green Paper.
Meeting details
In partnership with businesses, trade associations, unions and experts the Government is developing a series of plans for 8 sectors identified as growth-driving, with the potential to help achieve the UK’s growth mission.
On Tuesday 4 March the BTC will look at the performance of some of these growth-drivers – digital technology, life sciences, professional services – and hear from them about what support they need from Government.
- Do these sectors believe the UK can hit its growth mission - and what part can they play in achieving it?
- What parts of the UK’s business environment - regulatory environment, skills system or tax burden – are holding back their growth?
- What support can Government provide for research and development, infrastructure, access to finance and more, to help these sectors grow the UK economy faster than the rest of the G7?
