WEC to hear evidence on the health impacts of breast implants and other cosmetic procedures
The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will hear from academics, medical professionals and campaigners on the health impacts of breast implants and other cosmetic procedures during an evidence session in Parliament on Wednesday, 14 May.
Meeting details
During the first panel, MPs on the cross-party committee chaired by Labour MP Sarah Owen will discuss issues relating to breast implants specifically, while the second panel will explore the regulatory framework for all cosmetic procedures both surgical and non-surgical.
The evidence session is expected to touch upon the PIP implant scandal, the rise in cosmetic procedures, liquid BBLs (Brazilian butt lifts) and liquid boob jobs and cosmetic tourism.
