WEC to hear evidence on misogyny among young men and boys
The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will hear from the creator, writer and executive producer of Netflix TV show Adolescence Jack Thorne and fellow executive producer Emily Feller, as well as experts and professionals on misogyny among young men and boys on Tuesday, 29 April.

MPs on the cross-party committee, chaired by Labour MP Sarah Owen, will explore the themes of the Netflix TV drama Adolescence, including the impact of toxic online misogyny on young people. It will also examine the public and political reaction to it.
The session’s second panel comprises Jane Peckham, Deputy General Secretary, NASUWT, the Teachers’ Union, Dr Daniel Guinness, Co-Founder and Managing Director, of charity Beyond Equality and Matt Pinkett, Misogyny and Gender Equity Specialist of Engendering Change and English teacher.
Discussion will focus on misogyny among young people, including in schools, the emergence of the ‘manosphere’, the need for male role models, and key issues facing young men and boys.
