WEC to hear evidence on community cohesion
The Women and Equalities Committee (WEC) will hear from experts and professionals from various organisations on barriers and aids to community cohesion on Tuesday, 22 April.

During the first panel of this session, MPs on the cross-party committee will take evidence on the experience of Muslim communities in the UK, including of anti-Muslim hatred and Islamophobia, as well as the impact of social media, disinformation and misinformation. This panel will include representatives from the Muslim Council of Britain and the British Muslim Network, Muslim representative organisations, and Equi, a think tank that draws on Muslim insight.
The session’s second panel comprising Professor Ted Cantle and representatives from Southall Black Sisters and Humanists UK will also look at community cohesion, including the real or perceived barriers to cohesion between different ethnic and religious groups and the role of religion in community cohesion within the UK.
