Committee to question Google
The Science, Innovation and Technology Committee will hear from Google and the social media companies TikTok, Meta and X as part of its inquiry into misinformation and harmful algorithms.
In the morning, the cross-party committee will speak to Google. Members are likely to explore measures that the company uses to prevent misleading and harmful content appearing in search results, the impact of generative AI on mis/disinformation, and Google’s use of AI-infused search features. Questions could also cover the regulation and transparency of the digital advertising market, and the impact of the Online Safety Act.
Ahead of the main evidence session, the committee will hear from the HexisLab in a short slot as part of its showcase of UK innovators.
