Party funding and foreign interference in UK elections to be examined by Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee
On Tuesday morning, the Housing, Communities and Local Government (HCLG) Committee will question the Electoral Commission, and organisations including the Association of Electoral Administrators and Transparency International UK, for a one-off evidence session on electoral policy and reform.
Meeting details
The cross-party group of MPs will ask questions concerning the state of electoral democracy in the UK and on the integrity of the UK electoral system. The Committee is also likely to examine issues around the transparency of party funding and concerns about foreign interference in UK elections.
MPs will also explore voter engagement and turnout, proposals to lower the voting age, and other potential reforms to the voting system.
