Delivering new social and affordable homes - Housing associations questioned by Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee
On Tuesday morning, the Housing, Communities and Local Government (HCLG) Committee will question representatives from the social housing and building sectors for a one-off evidence session, looking at how to finance and build new social and affordable housing developments.
Meeting details
The cross-party group of MPs will ask questions around the financial pressures facing housing associations, the sustainability of current business models, and how well existing methods of developer contributions deliver social housing.
The Committee will also examine the Government’s role in helping housing associations develop affordable housing stock as part of their target for 1.5 million new homes and the role of the Social Housing regulator in the regulation of economic standards in the sector.
