This latest session is focusing on domestic production of high-end TV and will explore the practical and financial challenges faced by UK-based independent production companies. MPs are likely to ask about the effects of inward investment, the role of streaming services in distribution and the challenges posed by workforce issues and artificial intelligence.

The hearing builds on the evidence heard by the predecessor committee in the last Parliament from James Hawes, director of BBC's Merlin and AppleTV+'s Slow Horses; Jane Tranter, executive producer of His Dark Materials and Doctor Who; and Myriam Raja, director of Netflix's Top Boy.
