Northumbrian Water, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, Anglian Water and Wessex Water next to be questioned by MPs on their environmental and financial performance  

The EFRA Committee holds a further two evidence sessions next week as part of its ‘reforming the water sector’ inquiry, quizzing the executives of Northumbrian Water and Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water on Tuesday 11 March, and the bosses of Anglian Water and Wessex Water on Wednesday 12 March. 

The MPs’ inquiry has so far seen them question the executives of United Utilities, South West Water, Severn Trent, Southern Water, and Yorkshire Water, on their companies’ financial and environmental performance.

These evidence sessions will be an opportunity for the Committee to delve in to four more companies’ service delivery and customer satisfaction as well as their pay-out of dividends and executive bonuses and their debt gearing levels. 

Companies will be questioned on environmental issues, including specific pollution incidents of sewage discharges. 

MPs will also pose questions on Northumbrian Water, Anglian Water and Wessex Water having all contested Ofwat’s PR24 Final Determinations by requesting a review from the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
