The Justice and Home Affairs Committee is holding its third and fourth oral evidence sessions as part of its inquiry on electronic border management systems.

The Justice and Home Affairs Committee continues its inquiry on electronic border management systems. Today, it is holding two separate sessions. The earlier session is with the author of the 2022 Independent Review of Border Force, Hon. Alexander Downer AC. The session will also look at the Australian experience of digital border management. 

The later session concentrates on the introduction of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) by the UK Government, comparisons with the US pre-authorisation system (ESTA), and potential problems with such systems.
