The Work and Pensions Committee it to explore the case for reforming Carer’s Allowance (CA) after hearing it is in need of modernisation, during evidence to its  benefit levels inquiry.

MPs will first explore the experience of those receiving CA, with questions likely to focus on whether it adequately supports carers, the ease of the application process and the problems caused by overpayment.

The Committee will then question policy experts on how well the current system is working and what the priority areas for reform should be.
