The first panel, with representatives from Octopus, RWE and the Heat Pump Association, explores the movement of the grid towards increasing intermittent energy generations and how it can be flexible enough to minimise new infrastructure as we move towards net zero.

MPs then hear from the District Councils Network, Low Carbon Hub IPS Ltd, Regen and the Centre for Sustainable Energy on the planning system. This panel is likely to discuss how the Government can improve planning regulations and the planning process, community engagement and the role that local authorities play in reaching net zero.
