Secretary of State Victoria Atkins to face MPs’ questions on care workers
The Secretary of State faces questions on the impact of changes to the visa scheme for overseas care workers in her first appearance before the committee which will examine a range of challenges ahead for the NHS and Social Care.
Also on the agenda, how the reallocation of funding to cover the costs of industrial action in the NHS is likely to affect waiting lists, with a backlog of more than 7 million. Wider areas expected to be covered include government funding for the implementation of the NHS Long Term workforce plan, and increasing ambulance and A&E waiting times.

The committee is also expected to focus on cancer waiting times, with further questions relating to its inquires on preventing ill-health and NHS dental services which the committee found to be in need of fundamental reform.
