Committee to hear views of businesses, workers and consumers on the UK’s regulators
The Industry and Regulators Committee will continue its inquiry into the work of the UK’s regulators by hearing from representatives of businesses, workers and consumers. In this session, the Committee will examine how regulators engage with businesses, consumers and workers and how this impacts their decision-making. The Committee will discuss whether the UK’s regulators are given a clear job to do, their relationship with the Government, and the extent to which they are asked to take political or distributional decisions. The Committee will also ask about how regulators are held accountable, including how transparent regulators are, how parliamentary scrutiny affects them, and how to judge their performance.
