The Joint Committee on the National Security Strategy holds a one-off evidence session on the UK’s national security machinery, following up on its 2021-22 inquiry.

The Committee looks to revisit themes explored during the Committee’s national security machinery inquiry (2021) on Monday 11 December.

The first panel takes evidence from Lord Maude on the recently published Independent Review of Governance and Accountability in the Civil Service, which he led.

The second panel focuses on national security machinery through the lens of resilience. It considers the Government’s latest commitments to resilience, in light of the Government’s recently released implementation plan published on the 4 December and the ongoing Covid-19 inquiry.
