UK Government faces questions on rising costs for Scotland’s rural communities
The Scottish Affairs Committee will hear from UK Government ministers as it continues to take evidence on its inquiry on the cost of living pressures affecting remote rural communities in Scotland, at 4pm on Monday 11 September.

Energy, Transport and Scotland Office ministers and officials will face questions on the impact of the rising cost of living on remote rural communities in Scotland, and whether support programmes set up by the Government are addressing the issues which face people living in these areas.

- rising energy costs and the effectiveness of energy support schemes;
- food price inflation; and
- the impact of higher fuel prices on household transport costs.
