Is Dover prepared for new Entry/Exit system? Committee to take evidence
Top executives of the firms operating access to Europe via Dover will give evidence to the European Scrutiny Committee on the potential impact of the introduction of the new EU entry/exit rules that could cause delays crossing the border.

Members of the Committee will ask senior figures from the Port of Dover, Getlink and Eurostar for their views on what preparations and infrastructure changes they have made in response, and what still needs to be done.
The new system, which governs entry into the Schengen area, will go live at the end of 2024. Concerns have been raised that the new system, particularly since it requires travellers to register on the system before crossing.
