Asda to return to Committee to clarify position on fuel pricing and employment practices
Asda co-owner Mohsin Issa will appear before the Business and Trade Committee after MPs sought clarity on evidence given to the Committee by an Asda representative in late June.
Meeting details
The Committee sent a letter to Mr Issa looking to reconcile potential differences between what they heard during the 27 June evidence session around the firm’s fuel pricing strategy and accusations that it is employing fire and rehire tactics.
Mr Issa replied answering the Committee’s points of concern on 5 July.
The Competition and Markets Authority will appear before Mr Issa to discuss details of its market study of the road fuel market.
