MPs explores cutting-edge technologies to boost earlier cancer diagnosis
MPs will examine cutting-edge technologies capable of detecting and diagnosing cancer, in some cases before symptoms develop. Earlier diagnosis is identified as the key to improving cancer survival rates.

The second session of the Committee’s Future cancer inquiry will consider the extent to which the NHS-Galleri blood test could change cancer screening. MPs will also hear about other developments supported by the NHS Cancer programme that offer less invasive ways to collect and examine cells for early signs of changes. The role of genomics in transforming early detection will be explored. Also on the agenda, the extent to which cancer workforce planning is keeping pace with innovations and what impact the lack of digital and IT infrastructure within the NHS is making.
