What does the gambling industry think of the Government’s White Paper? MPs to question industry trade bodies
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee questions industry leaders in the second session of its inquiry into gambling regulation.
Meeting details
The session will focus on the gambling industry and its reactions to the Government’s recent Gambling White Paper. In the first panel, MPs will question representatives of the Betting and Gambling Council on the proposed reforms to online gambling such as financial risk checks, cross-operator data sharing, stake limits for online slots and protections for children and young adults.
In the second panel, the witnesses from panel one will be joined by representatives of Bacta and the Bingo Association. The cross-party Committee will examine proposals that will affect the whole industry, such as the statutory gambling levy, as well as major changes to the land-based sector. The ability of the Gambling Commission to implement and enforce the new regulatory regime is also likely to be discussed.
