MPs to examine Scotland’s response to coronavirus

The Scottish Affairs Committee will examine Scotland’s response to and recovery from coronavirus at 3pm on Monday 26 June.

In the first session of a follow-up inquiry into the Committee’s previous work on covid, the cross-party Committee of MPs will examine Scotland’s post-pandemic economy, UK and Scottish Government spending on covid measures, and the post-covid recovery.

Likely areas of questioning

In a session with experts and business representatives, the MPs are likely to explore Scotland’s economic growth, inflation and the cost of living, and the impact of the pandemic and the recovery on individuals and small businesses.

The Committee is also likely to examine the impact of UK and Scottish Government support measures, such as furlough, the self-employment support scheme, and business support.
