Treasury Committee to question insurance bosses on rising premiums, conduct and industry competitiveness
The Treasury Committee will question insurance industry leaders on premiums, conduct and competitiveness at 2.15pm on Wednesday 7 June.
Likely areas of questioning
The cross-party Committee of MPs is likely to explore the impact of inflation on insurance premiums, the conduct of insurers when handling claims, and the size of insurance payouts.
The MPs are also likely to examine whether firms are making excess profits, competitiveness within the industry, and the regulatory environment.
Ahead of the session, the Committee called for consumers to submit experiences of the insurance industry since the pandemic to inform its questioning of sector leaders. The MPs will analyse the responses to identify themes to inform their work.
