Minister called in following concerns over declining vaccination rates
Health Minister Maria Caulfield faces questions about declining rates in vaccination uptake as part of a wider probe to consider the importance of vaccination in preventing ill-health. Progress on an NHS vaccination strategy and measures to tackle vaccine disinformation are also on the agenda.
Meeting details
The first hearing took evidence from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation among its witnesses. The JCVI advises the Government on the introduction of new vaccines and changes to existing vaccination programmes. Concerns have been raised about declining vaccination rates, particularly the levels of childhood vaccinations against diseases such as measles.
