Environmental regulations inquiry: legal experts to give evidence
On Tuesday 18 April, the House of Lords Built Environment Committee hears evidence from legal experts on its inquiry on the impact of environmental regulations on development.

Focus of session
The first session will focus on understanding the role courts play in the application of environmental regulations on behalf of developers, promoters and local government. The session will cover the law on environmental regulations; judicial review; the influence of case law; and the process of environmental assessment.
The second session with Justice Brian Preston will focus on the first specialist environmental court, the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales, and consider whether aspects of this Australian court could be applicable in the UK.
