Light and noise pollution: private sector challenges and solutions
The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee will hold the fifth evidence sessions of its inquiry into the effects of artificial light and noise on human health.
The Committee will hear from two panels of witnesses from relevant private sector professionals: first from Richard Greer, Fellow and Director at Arup and Poppy Szkiler, CEO at Quiet Mark; second from architects Colin Ball and Ian Ritchie and Arfon Davies, Leader of Lighting for the UKIMEA region at Arup.
The session will focus on the approaches taken by those in the private sector to addressing light and noise pollution in the projects they are involved with. Members will explore whether noise and light pollution are given adequate attention by planners and decision-makers, industry efforts to disseminate best practice and whether the existing guidelines need updating.
