Levelling Up Committee questions Secretary of State Michael Gove on UK Government’s relationships with the devolved administrations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales
The Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (LUHC) Committee are joined by MPs from the Northern Ireland, Scottish Affairs, and Welsh Affairs Committees in putting questions of Secretary of State, Michael Gove MP, relating to his work leading co-ordination with the respective devolved administrations.
Meeting details
The cross-party group of MPs are likely to examine the current state of intergovernmental relations (IGR) between the four UK governments and how the new IGR framework is working.
The Committee is also likely to explore the effectiveness of interministerial groups and mechanisms for dispute resolution between the four UK governments.
Committee Members are also likely to take the opportunity to ask questions on issues relating to the impact of the Retained EU Law Bill on laws made by the devolved parliaments and the design and implementation of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
MPs are also expected to examine questions around co-operation between Holyrood and London following differences between the UK and Scottish Governments over issues such as the Gender Recognition Reform Bill and a second independence referendum.
