MPs quiz government ‘Taskforce’ on species reintroduction and other experts
The government body designed to consider the reintroduction of animal and plant species that have become extinct in their natural English habitats, the ‘Species Re-introduction Taskforce’, is examined by the Environment Food and Rural Affairs Committee.
Meeting details
It’s the latest public hearing in the cross-party committee’s inquiry into Species Re-introduction.
The Chair of the Species Reintroduction Taskforce, Dr Andy Clements, is asked about the membership of the Taskforce and its relationship with the government, including whether it will be independent.
The session also looks into how species reintroduction work may fit into the government’s wider nature recovery goals, questioning representatives from Natural England, an official advisory body.
