Plan for Jobs and employment support: Work and Pensions Committee to question employment support service providers and organisations
Representatives from employment support service providers and community-focused programmes gives evidence to MPs as part of the inquiry into the Government’s strategy for helping people find and stay in work.
Meeting details
The Committee first questions larger support service providers who hold Government contracts for running programmes such as Restart and the Work and Health Programme. Witnesses are likely to be asked about the performance and approach of DWP in providing employment support and how it might be delivered more effectively.
The second panel features charitable organisation Groundwork, social enterprise business Miss Macaroon and Get Ready for Work (GroW), a programme focused on supporting women into work. Questioning is likely to focus on their role in DWP schemes such as Kickstart and how best to support people, particularly those from disadvantaged groups, overcome barriers to employment.
