Strike-stricken Royal Mail and Post Office supremos Simon Thompson and Nick Read will be questioned by the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee on the performance and finances of their businesses and service delivery.
The Committee will also question Union bosses Dave Ward and Andy Furey on the causes and potential resolutions of strikes against both firms.
Industrial action, brought by Ward and Furey’s Communication Workers Union, may be set to continue next month after strikes across November and December, including Royal Mail workers striking on Christmas Eve.
Royal Mail’s Universal Service Obligation and the Post Office Horizon scandal compensation scheme will also be raised with the bosses.
The session comes after a ‘cyber incident’ at Royal Mail led the firm to urge customers not to send post abroad until the issue was resolved.
