How effective is the ‘Made in Scotland’ brand internationally?

The Scottish Affairs Committee will be holding its first public evidence session on its inquiry, Promoting Scotland Internationally, hearing from Scottish Chambers of Commerce, Scotland Food and Drink, Scotch Whisky Association and Scottish Seafood Association.

In 2021, international Scottish exports were worth £35.1 billion, and the UK Government has stressed in its submission to the Committee that it works internationally to promote and protect the economic interests of Scotland.

Members are likely to explore this further with the panel, seeking to understand the role the UK Government plays in promoting Scottish trade, investment and produce internationally, and how effective this has been.
