The Scottish Affairs Committee will be holding an evidence session exploring fishing grounds in Scotland with Scottish fishers and experts, before hearing from the relevant Minister at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the New Year.
Meeting details
The purpose of this evidence session will explore concerns raised by Scottish fishers about the impact on fisheries of the increasingly diverse uses of Scottish waters, such as the growth of offshore power generation and the increase in areas designated for marine conservation. MPs will be examining the processes by which decisions about the use of Scottish waters, and analyses of the costs and benefits to those with an interest in Scottish seas, are made.
