 What is the future of technology in the creative industries?

The House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee takes evidence from Google, the British Film Institute and the games and interactive entertainment industry as it continues to explore how technology will change and challenge the creative industries.

The committee continues its inquiry into the future of the creative industries. This session focuses on the development of extended and immersive reality technologies; and the increasing importance of digitisation and data to the creative industries.

Possible questions

  • How are extended reality technologies changing the way creative and cultural content is experienced?
  • What are the challenges associated with the growth in digital culture, and the rising importance of data to the creative industries?
  • How does the UK compare internationally in this space, and what lessons can the UK learn from abroad?
