- What do you see as the key drivers of land use in this country and what impact will these have on policy and land use decision making in the medium to long term?
- In the past the Government has resisted calls for a land use framework for England until it was announced in the Government’s Food Strategy paper. What has led to the change of view?
- The Government has numerous ambitions with the potential to greatly impact land planning and use, including the 25 Year Environment Plan, Net Zero, and 30 per cent of land for nature by 2030. How do all these strategies fit together to ensure the best approach to land use in England in the medium to long term?
- The Committee has heard that farmers, including tenant farmers, are not sure what to expect with the new ELMs regime and that there is a lack of direct support to farmers to help them make informed decisions about how to get the most benefit from ELMs. What is your department doing to address this?
