S4C Chief Executive and Chairman to give evidence to MPs on free-to-air sports broadcasting

The Welsh Affairs Committee will hear from the Chief Executive and Chairman of S4C in a one-off evidence session on free-to-air sports broadcasting.

S4C has secured exclusive UK free-to-air broadcast rights to show the Cymru Men's National Team matches from 2022 to 2024 and Wales’s Six Nations matches for the next four years. However, there are longer term concerns regarding securing these free-to-air rights for the Welsh language.

While the evidence session will focus on sports rights, it is also likely to explore the proposed Media Bill, the future of Channel 4, and the wider state of broadcasting in Wales.
