Likely questions

Topics the committee is likely to cover in these sessions include:

  • Is the Government’s net zero strategy getting the balance right between decarbonisation, affordability and security of supply?
  • Are there any lessons that we can learn from the successful use of Contracts for Difference, in encouraging investment in offshore wind, to apply to other energy technologies?
  • What risks are considered when assessing energy companies and loans to energy investments?
  • The Government has outlined a Green Finance Strategy – what are the most significant opportunities to encourage more investment?
  • The EU taxonomy includes nuclear and gas as green investments, should these  energy sources be considered green as part of the UK’s taxonomy?

These evidence sessions will be streamed live on Parliament TV
