Lords Committee hears from the NFU and CLA on land use, agriculture and farming
The Land Use Committee will hold its second and third public evidence sessions with Susan Twining, Chief Land Use Policy Adviser for the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) and Dr Andrew Clark, Director of Policy at the National Farmers’ Union. They will hear evidence about land use and planning issues, primarily for farming and agriculture.
Possible Questions Include:
- What will be the main impacts of the Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan on Land Use in England and Food Security?
- How are Environmental Land Management Schemes affecting farmers and Landowners?
- How would having a unified spatial framework at different scales help to encourage restoration of biodiversity?
- What challenges and opportunities do the current government housing targets and levelling up agenda present for rural and farming communities?
