Purpose of session
The Committee is considering the Government's response to the Syria crisis, with particular focus on:
- the role of jobs and livelihoods in helping Syrian refugees support themselves
- how DFID assistance is directed to the most vulnerable
- how vulnerability criteria will be used to select refugees for resettlement
- plans for their integration once they arrive in the UK
- how Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) is to be used to support refugees, both in the Middle East and in the UK
