Purpose of the Session
Allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse in the aid sector have recently been brought to light through several channels. The Committee has launched an inquiry examining this exploitation and abuse and what systems can be put in place in future to better respond to allegations.
The purpose of this session will be to question expert witnesses with experience of bringing instances of sexual abuse to light within both the NGO and international context. It will consider both the background to why allegations were not responded to, as well as possible solutions going forward.
